Abdul Hafeez Ahmed is laid to rest at the Karim block graveyard

Lahore: An old guard of the Jamaat e Islami, a close associate of the JI’s founder Maulana Syed Abul Ala Maudoodi, and Managing Director of the Islamic Publications, Abdul Hafeez Ahmed who expired last night, was laid to rest at the Karim block graveyard in the presence of thousands of mourners.

JI deputy chief Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, led the funeral prayer which was attended by Maulana Abdul Malik, JI Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch, JI deputy chief Asadullah Bhutto, PTI leaders Ejaz Chaudhry and Mian Mehmud ur Rashid, veteran journalist Mujibr Rahman Shami and others.

On the occasion, Liaqat Baloch paid rich tributes to the departed leader for his services for Aqamat e Deen. He said that Abdul Hafeez Ahmed had been associated with the Islami Jamiat e Talaba from his youth. Later, he had founded the Al–Badr Publications and later organized the Islamic Publications. Thousands of books on Islam had been published under his supervision.

Meanwhile, former JI Ameer, Syed Munawar Hasan has expressed deep grief over the sad demise of Abdul Hafeez Ahmed and paid tributes to him for his valuable service to the JI and Islam.
