BILAL YASIN VISITS TO WHEAT PROCUREMENT CENTERS AT KASUR AND CHUNIAN

Minister FoodLahore: Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin has said that Punjab government is determined to provide maximum facilities to the farmers and for this purpose, all out resources are being utilized to furthering wheat procurement campaign in a transparent manner, providing facilities and resolving their problems.

He expressed these views while talking to farmers during his surprise visits to wheat procurement centers at Kasur and Chunian. Additional District Collector Muhammad Shahid, Assistant Commissioner Kasur Wardah Mashhood Shorish, Deputy Director Food Lahore Division Muhammad Hussain Khokhar, District Food Controller Majid Ali Khan, Chairman Market Committee Nasir Mahmood Khan, Vice Chairman Jamil Ahmed Khan, Center In-charge Haji Mukhtar Ahmed, journalists and a large number of farmers were present on the occasion.

Provincial Minister Bilal Yasin said that on the special direction of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif he is inspecting wheat procurement centers to ensure relief to small farmers. He said that 70 percent of people of Pakistan are associated with agriculture and agriculture is backbone of our economy. He warned that no discriminatory attitude will be tolerated in provision of bardana.

He said that foolproof steps have been taken for ensuring purchase of wheat at fixed prices, provision of bardana and payments. He said that not more than 200 bags will be given to the farmers at one time. He directed all officers to discharge their duties honestly for ensuring judicious and transparent distribution of bardana and warned that no negligence will be tolerated in this regard. Bilal Yasin also issued orders to district officers and office-bearers of market committee to monitor the wheat procurement at centers so that problems of farmers could immediately be resolved.
