Rana Mashud adopts Government Middle School Sikandria Colony Band Road

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that the Punjab Government is providing all out resources for provision of quality education. Parliamentarians are adopting schools, which will have long-lasting impact. Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has also adopted a school and he would visit it soon.

He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony to adopt Government Middle School Sikandria Colony Band Road Lahore under the initiative of ‘Parho Punjab…. Barho Punjab’.

EDO Education Lahore Pervaiz Akhtar, representatives of DFID and UNICEF, large number of students and school teachers were present on the occasion.

While addressing the ceremony, the minister said that future of Pakistan is linked with provision of quality education and government is taking several steps to achieve this goal including training of teachers and provision of missing facilities in government schools. School enrolment has increased under ‘Parho Punjab….Barho Punjab’ initiative.

The performance of schools would be better once they are adopted by the parliamentarians. The minister visited every class room of the school and asked questions from students about their course books. While addressing the students, the minister said that talented students are guarantee of safe and bright future of Pakistan and it is incumbent on the government to provide them best opportunities to get quality education.

The Minister appreciated the performance of teachers and students. He announced that story books would be distributed among students and visit of Zoo would also be arranged for them.

The minister took notice of mistakes found in course books and said that strict action would be taken against those who are responsible for the negligence.
