PITB’s video linking reaps benefits from abroad

Lahore: Technology enables a live speech and inauguration from Istanbul to Muzaffargarh in South Punjab. It was tweeted by the Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Dr. Umar Saif during the inaugural ceremony of Tayyip Erdogan Hospital at Muzaffargarh in which the Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan addressed a large audiences gathered at a spot thousands kilometers away while sitting in Turkey and also watched the speech of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif made at Muzaffargarh.

Talking after the successful usage of the video linking system, Dr. Saif said that devised by the PITB, the system was earlier being used by the Chief Minister and local district administration within Punjab but now it proved its vivacity across the borders.

He told that one can easily imagine how much the cost, distance and time was saved by the technology that otherwise could cause a lot of nuisance for both governments in form of huge arrangements for travel, security, protocol, transportation, messing and lodging. Recounting the benefits of video linking, Dr. Saif said that it was costing a little but saving a lot.

“Abridged travel had long been the top reason to deploy video, but the soft benefits of video conferencing could reap greater rewards. A crystal clear video conferencing from thousands of miles underpins the proverb that picture is worth a thousand words that simultaneously authenticates the live statements.
