Malaysian Minister Seri Idris Jusoh visits National Hockey Stadium

Lahore: Malaysian Minister for Education Seri Idris Jusoh, High Commissioner to Pakistan Dr Hasrul Sani Mujtabar and other members of their delegation visited National Hockey Stadium on Sunday.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan received the honorable guests. Secretary School Education and Managing Director TDCP were also present on this occasion.

Malaysian delegation took a round of National Hockey Stadium and admired the world’s biggest field hockey pitch. Malaysian Minister also exhibited his hockey skills. Sports enthusiasts chanted slogans in favour of Pakistan and Malaysian friendship on this occasion.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, in his address, welcomed the guests and apprised them about the upcoming Punjab International Sports Festival (PISF). “Over 1400 athletes from five continents will feature in the around 20 sports events during the mega event”.

The minister informed that Malaysia will have 24 athletes in the mega event. “We will welcome athletes from all the countries and top class security will be provided to visiting sports contingents,” he added. The minister said Pakistan’s relation with Malaysia will be strengthened in the field of sports and education with the passage of time.

Malaysian Minister, while talking to media, expressed his satisfaction on the security situation in Pakistan. He appreciated Punjab govt and Sports Board Punjab for holding several mega events like Punjab Youth Festival during the last couple of years. He was quite impressed with the achievements of Sports Board Punjab.

To a question regarding visit of Malaysian hockey team to Pakistan, the Minister replied that he will request to his government to send hockey team to Pakistan.
