Lahore: Chairman Coordination FPCCI Malik Sohail Hussain has asked the government to consider demands of the business community sympathetically and take concrete steps to resolve their outstanding problems.
He said that trading community of Islamabad has suffered a lot due to Metro Bus Project and sit-ins while they were not provided any relief by the authorities. Now, the traders have been asked to close shops at 8 pm which will be last nail in the coffin of their businesses.
Malik Sohail asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Finance Minister Ishar Dar and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take steps aimed at soothing the business community which has always supported PML-N considering it a business friendly political entity.
He said that the elected representatives of Rawalpindi take interest in the problems of masses while those elected from Islamabad have abandoned their voters in favour of their agenda. He said that the culture of Islamabad is different where people come out of homes for shopping at night which the policymakers must understand otherwise the situation will lead us to tensions which is not in interest of anyone.
The business leader said that traders have used strike as last option, adding that power can be conserved by swift implementation of power projects and reforms in the transmission and distribution network.
