Shahbaz Sharif cuts the birthday cake of British Queen

Shahbaz Sharif cuts the birthday cake of British QueenLahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif participated in the birthday ceremony of British Queen Elizabeth and cut a cake along with British High Commissioner to Pakistan Philip Barton at a local hotel today. Diplomats, Provincial Ministers, politicians, intellectuals and prominent personalities from different walks of life were present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister congratulated on the birthday of Queen Elizabeth and paid tributes to the Queen on her public services. Addressing on the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said that Britain is an important trade partner of Pakistan and deep friendly and historic relations exist between the two countries. He said that Britain has always extended cooperation in the stability of democracy and promotion of democratic values in Pakistan.

He said that cooperation of Britain in education, health, skill development and other sectors is commendable. He said that DFID is extending cooperation for reforms in education and health sector. He said that thousands of persons have been made skillful with the collaboration of DFID in Punjab. He said that Pakistan has always worked jointly with government of any party in Britain.

Shahbaz Sharif said that friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and Britain is increasing with every passing day. He said that participation of Pakistani and British citizens in today’s ceremony is a clear proof to bilateral friendship.

Speaking on the occasion, British High Commissioner thanked Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for his participation in the function and said that Britain desires stability of democracy in Pakistan and economic and trade relations exist between two countries. He said that Britain will continue its cooperation in Punjab.
