Kh Imran Nazir appointed as Vice Chairman Regional Taskforce (Northern Punjab) of substandard drugs

Kh Imran NazirLahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has appointed Parliamentary Secretary on Health Kh. Imran Nazir as Vice Chairman Regional Taskforce (Northern Punjab) of substandard and spurious drugs. The Taskforce comprising 18 members includes Ch. Iftikhar Hussain Chachar from Okara, Muhammad Naeem Ansari from Kasur, Nawabzada Haider Mehdi from Gujrat and Kh. Waseem Butt MPAs from Narowal besides Additional Chief Secretary, Secretaries of Law, Prosecution and Information Departments, Chairman PITB, Divisional Commissioners, DIG Police, RPO, Director Health Services, Drug Controller and Director Drug Testing Laboratory. The Taskforce has been given the power to take one member by itself.

The taskforce will conduct raids for checking the manufacturing, sale, purchase and stock of spurious and substandard drugs and will be authorized for inspection of any factory. The taskforce will implement drug laws and play an effective role in elimination of fake medicines. Regional Task force will hold its meetings regularly and submit performance report to the office of Chief Secretary and Secretary Health Punjab.
