Sports Board Punjab resolved the financial issue of PHF

Director General Sports Punjab Usman AnwarLahore: Sports Board Punjab (SBP), on Thursday, has resolved a vital and long standing issue of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) by offering financial help and now the camp of national hockey team will resume on April 13, 2015 at National Hockey Stadium.

It may be mentioned here that Pakistan hockey team will take part in the camp training for the preparation of Olympic qualifying round matches to be played in Belgium.

Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar, in his media talk, announced the monetary assistance for PHF and said: “Hockey is our national game and we will utilize all the resources for the better future of hockey in Pakistan,” he added.

“The participation of national hockey team in the Olympic qualifying round matches is of great significance and that’s why we offered handsome assistance for the cause of Pakistan’s national game,” he asserted. DG Usman Anwar said it’s not the first occasion, SBP always took all the possible measures for the growth of sports in Punjab and other regions of the country.

The training camp of national senior probables preparing for participation in international commitments will be established at National Hockey Stadium Lahore (instead of Hockey Stadium, Johar Town) on 12th April 2015.

Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) is highly indebted to Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, honourable Chief Minister Punjab, Rana Mashud Ahmad Khan, Sports Minister Punjab and Usman Anwar, Director General, Sports Board Punjab for their kind favor, support and act of kindness for the establishment of national training camp.
