CIA police has arrested dacoits who looted expatriate

Commisioner Oversese PunjabLahore: CIA police has arrested dacoits who looted Rs. 10 lakh on gunpoint from a citizen Salahuddin coming to Pakistan from London and his father Ch. Abdul Aziz while withdrawing the amount from National Saving Centre and recovered the looted money.

This was told by Commissioner Overseas Commission Afzaal Bhatti to print and electronic media during a press conference at the office of Overseas Commission 1-Club Road, Lahore.

Director Police Overseas Commission Capt (R) Syed Ahmad Mubeen and DG Overseas Commission Kh. Dawood were also present on the occasion.

Afzaal Bhatti said that Punjab Chief Minister while taking notice of a dacoity with a citizen Salahuddin on March 18 had ordered CCPO Lahore Capt® Muhammad Amin Wains to trace out the culprits. CCPO Lahore Capt® Muhammad Amin Wains ordered acting DIG Investigation Rana Ayaz Saleem and SP CIA Muhammad Umar Virk to apprehend the dacoits.

Muhammad Umar Virk along with a police team arrested the dacoits after round the clock efforts and recovered the looted money of Rs:10 lakh from them. Commissioner Overseas said that Lahore police has done excellent job which is highly appreciable, particularly, SP CIA Muhammad Umar Virk and DSP CIA Umer Farooq displayed professional skill and arrested the dacoits which is worth emulating for other police officers.

Replying to the questions of journalists, he said that Overseas Commission has received more than 200 complaints of Overseas Pakistanis so far, out of which, 61 complaints have been redressed while work on resolution of 106 complaints is continuing speedily. He said that courts have given stay orders against most of these complaints.

Replying to a question about the cooperation with Overseas Commission by administration and police, Afzaal Bhatti said that police and administration are extending all possible cooperation to the Commission. He said that Commission is facing problems in resolution of only those complaints which are pending before the courts.

Replying to other questions, he said that Overseas Commission has developed its web portal, upon which, Overseas Pakistanis can register their complaints, after which, Commission immediately starts action. Commissioner Overseas said that Overseas Commission is working under one-window policy and action is taken on every complaint within 48 hours. He told that the students of universities will be imparted  internship at the airports of Lahore, Sialkot and Multan who will provide all possible assistance and guidance to overseas Pakistanis and their families at airports whereas these students will also be imparted internship in Overseas Commission.
