Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has made it clear to the federal minister Khawaja Saad Rafique and his both MPAs that he want good news from the LB elections in Lahore cantt that is much needed to prove the popularity of the party and defuse the allegations of rigging in NA 125 during elections 2013.
According to reliable resources,Chief Minister Punjab took a detail briefing from the federal Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique ,MPA Yaseen Sohal and MPA Mian Naseer Ahmad regarding the LB Elections in Cantt areas.
The CM said his government has provided everything they wanted ,now its their turn to show some results,he made it clear upon the three that Lahore Cantt & Walton Cantt wards are situated in their respective constituencies so they must show results.They have to prove that PML-N is the most popular party in cantt areas like other parts of the city,CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif added.
Later, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif presided over a high level meeting here today which reviewed Bab-e-Pakistan project. Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq especially attended in the meeting. Secretary Information Momin Agha gave a briefing on the project.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that Bab-e-Pakistan project is of vital importance and is being executed in the memory of the founding fathers of the country who rendered supreme sacrifices during Pakistan Movement. He said that it is a national obligation to promote awareness in the new generation regarding Pakistan Movement and aims and objectives of the creation of the country.
He said that Bab-e-Pakistan project will help in highlighting the sacrifices rendered for the creation of Pakistan. He further said that Bab-e-Pakistan Foundation has been set up and the members of the boards have been appointed. He said that immediate measures should be taken for the early completion of this project of historic nature.
The Chief Minister further said that construction of grounds and provision of sports facilities should also be considered under this project. Similarly, he said, a plan should be evolved for the promotion of artists and pictures with regard to Pakistan Movement and steps should also be taken for providing other recreational facilities as well.
Shahbaz Sharif said that a separate country for the Muslims was achieved after supreme sacrifices by the Muslims of the subcontinent while millions of Muslims had to face the painful experience of migration. He said that Bab-e-Pakistan project reminds of the hardships and sacrifices of the Muslims, therefore, there is a need to pay due attention to this project of historic importance.
Members Provincial Assembly Mian Naseer, Yasin Sohal, Chief Secretary, concerned provincial secretaries, Press Secretary to Chief Minister, Managing Director NESPAK, Commissioner Lahore Division and concerned officers were present in the meeting.
