Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan is passing through a critical phase of its history and there is a dire need of national unity and harmony. He said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has the support of all political forces and government is making all decisions to counter the challenges with collective wisdom.
The Chief Minister said that nation is united in the war against terrorism, extremism and sectarianism and terrorists will be defeated with the force of national unity. He said that the mission of making Pakistan a haven of peace will be completed.
The Chief Minister was talking to Provincial Ministers and Assembly Members who met him, here today. They included Provincial Ministers Syed Haroon Ahmd Sultan Bukhari, Malik Nadeem Kamran, Members National Assembly Sajid Mehdi, Basit Bukhari, Begum Iffat Liaquat, Members Provincial Assembly Malik Muhammad Nawaz, Bao Akhtar and Nighat Sheikh.
Meanwhile, A delegation of Lahore High Court Bar Association led by its President Pir Masood Chishti met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here today. The Chief Minister on this occasion gave approval to the decision of providing annual grant to the bar associations in province and said that legislation will be carried out for this purpose. He also announced a special grant of Rs.40 million for Lahore High Court Bar Association.
Talking to the delegation, the Chief Minister said that lawyers play a key role in providing prompt justice to the people and their services for the stability of democratic system and supremacy of constitution are commendable. He said that lawyer’s community will have to play an active role in ensuring justice to the citizens at police station and Kutchery levels.
The delegation included Vice President of Lahore High Court Bar Association, Irfan Arif Sheikh, Secretary Muhammad Ahmed Qayyum and Finance Secretary Akhtar Hussain Sherazi. Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed, Member National Assembly Pervaiz Malik, Member Provincial Assembly Rana Sanaullah and concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
