Lahore: A representative delegation of Senators and Members National Assembly from FATA led by Alhaj Shah Jee Gul Afridi, MNA met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here today. The Chief Minister congratulated newly elected senators from FATA and said that they have been given an opportunity by Allah to serve the nation and it is hoped that they will play an active role for the progress and development of the country. He said that the displaced persons of North Waziristan had left their homes for Pakistan and faced problems and hardships and it is hoped that peace will be restored in the country due to their sacrifices. He said that return of IDPs augurs well. He said that Punjab government had also extended all out help to the displaced persons as it was a national obligation to support those who were making sacrifices for the nation.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the brave forces of Pakistan are achieving glorious success in operation Zarb-e-Azb and writing a new history of courage in the war against terrorism. He said that terrorists and extremists as well as their facilitators will find no place in the country.
The Chief Minister said that Pak Army has rendered invaluable sacrifices for the country and it is time for national unity. He said that besides use of force, provision of education and health facilities as well as employment opportunities is essential for rooting out terrorism and extremism. He said that tolerance, restraint and brotherhood will have to be promoted for setting up a peaceful society. He said that terrorism, extremism and sectarianism have caused a huge loss to the country and time has come to root out these menaces from Pakistan. He said that the promise of giving a safe and peaceful Pakistan to the coming generation will be fulfilled.
The delegation included Senators Taj Muhammad Afridi, Aurangzeb Khan, Momin Khan, Sajjad Hussain Toori, Members National Assembly Dr. GG Jamal, Nasir Khan, Haji Bismillah Khan, Sajid Hussain Toori and Bilal ur Rehman.
