Pakistan women Kabaddi team is awarded the prize money

Madeeha LatifLahore: Pakistan women Kabaddi team, that won the bronze medal in Kabaddi World Cup 2014 in India, was given the prize money of Rs 58 lakh on Tuesday. The cheque of prize money was awarded by Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar.

Madeeha Latif, the captain of national women kabaddi team, expressed her gratitude to DG SBP for awarding huge prize money.

Talking to media, Madeeha said it’s for the first time in the history of Pakistan that women Kabaddi players were awarded with such a hefty amount. “Pakistan girls grabbed the bronze medal in the grand event and all the credit goes to CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Punjab Sports Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan and DG SBP Usman Anwar,” she added.

Madeeha said that Sports Board Punjab, under the directives of DG SBP Usman Anwar, arranged world class coaches, trainers and facilities at training camp for national women kabaddi team. “The members of women team are quite upbeat after getting reasonable prize money. We are preparing our team for next top class kabbadi events and we will try our best to win the next Kabaddi World Cup,” she asserted.
