Pak has no design against any country: Aizaz Ahmed

Lahore: Foreign Secretary of Pakistan Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry has said that Pakistan has no designs against any country of the world including India. He was addressing a one day seminar organized by Centre for South Asian Studies, Department of Political Science and Lahore Council for World Affairs at Al Raazi Hall here on Wednesday.

PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran presided over the seminar while Chairperson Prof Dr Umbreen Javed, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion. Delivering his keynote lecture, Aizaz Ahmed quoted the words of Quaid-e-Azam that if there is peace within, there will be peace without.

He pointed out Indian significance in the global politics and highlighted growing Indian relations with the United States. He said that Pakistan and India should develop good economic relations and promote people to people contact. Mr Aizaz shed light on the national objectives of Pakistan’s foreign policy keeping in view global as well as national scenario. He also gave a brief history of rise and fall in Pakistan-India Relations.

PU VC Dr Mujahid Kamran said that the Muslims were not contributing to creation of new knowledge while India was far ahead of us in this field. Later, a question-answer session was held.
