Punjab Government approves 10200 new vacancies of doctors of general cadre

Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has accorded approval to more than 10200 new vacancies in grade 18, 19 and 20 of doctors of general cadre.

According to Advisor Health Kh. Salman Rafiq, the Chief Minister has given approval to 4943 vacancies of Senior Medical Officer grade 18, 2510 of Additional Principal Medical Officer grade 19 and 496 of Principal Medical Officer grade 20.

He informed that the Chief Minister has also given approval to 1461 vacancies of lady doctors SWMO grade 18, 656 of APWMO grade 19 and 136 of PWMO grade 20. He said that roadmap of promotion of doctors of general cadre in Health Department and promotion up to 10 years has been evolved after which the problem of shortage of doctors and senior medical officers in the hospitals will be resolved.
