Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, has said that instead of making a distinction between terrorists, the government would have to take action against them.
He was addressing a joint meeting of the JI Sindh Shoora and the district level JI bodies in Karachi.
Sirajul Haq said that the JI had always condemned terrorism at every forum and added that targeting religion and madrissahs for terrorism was wrong and condemnable. He said like other politicians, murderous attempts had also been made on a number of JI leaders including former JI Ameer Qazi Husain Ahmed. JI deputy chief Asadullah Bhutto, JI Sindh chief Dr Meraj ul Huda Siddiqui and eminent religious scholar Maulana Abdul Haq Hashmi also addressed the meeting.
He said that the JI wanted development of the individual and households, the country and the whole world so that the Quaid e Azam’s dream of an Islamic and prosperous Pakistan could be realized.
He deplored that a group of self seekers was holding the entire system and the nation as hostage because of its wealth and power. He said that the oppressed masses were in search of a messiah.
Sirajul Haq said that the US, the international preacher of peace and democracy, had always sided with the dictators and kings and set worst examples of terrorism through the massacre of innocent human beings. The bloodshed going on in Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan was a proof, he added.
He said that the JI had revolted against the Satanic power and expressed the hope that in the war between truth and falsehood, truth would triumph.
The JI chief said that politics was the name of leadership and good governance. It was not something easy but was the job of brave and courageous people desiring martyrdom.
He stressed upon the JI members and workers to carry the message of the JI to every door.
Later, while addressing an Ulema conference at Boner, Sirajul Haq said that the country was facing threats not from the madrissahs, the Ulema or the poor masses, it was facing threats because of its incompetent and corrupt rulers. He said Pakistan had fallen into the grip of terrorism because of the oppressive system prevailing in the country.
However,he said that an Islamic revolution was the destiny of the country and it was not far off. He urged the Ulema to pull the nation out of the sectarian and factional division for forging a complete national unity.
He said that on coming to power, the JI would pay salaries to the Ulema out of the public exchequer like the armed forces and the police.
