Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, while appreciating the successful test firing of Raad, Ghaznvi and Abdali missiles, has impressed upon the rulers to launch a missile that could tackle the problems of corruption, price spiral, unemployment , lawlessness and illiteracy.
He was addressing the prize distribution ceremony of the Ghazali Education Trust held at the Aiwan e Iqbal, on Wednesday.
The JI chief said that in a country where millions of children were not going to school in the present computer age, it did not look appropriate for the rulers to talk of development and prosperity.
Minister of State for Education and Defense, Eng. Baleeghur Rahman, JI Punjab chief and Chairman, Ghazali Education Trust, Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar, Dr Sameeha Raheel Qazi, coloumnist Amjad Islam Amjad and PTI leader Nausheen Hamid, also addressed the ceremony.
Continuing, Sirajul Haq said that the introduction of a uniform education system all over the country could wipe out the class divide. He however deplored that the government was not setting up a single education board for all religious madrissahs with a uniform syllabi in spite of the demand by all the five boards of the Wifaqul madaris. He said that the JI on coming into power, would enforce a uniform education system in the country and the examinations for the superior services would be held in Urdu.
Referring to the Kashmir Solidarity Day being observed tomorrow, the JI chief advised Indian Prime Minister Modi to learn a lesson from history and stop dreaming of keeping the Kashmiris as slaves on gun point. He said the unprecedented sacrifices of the Kashmiris during the last four decades amply proved that India could not crush their liberation movement by force.
He also urged the Pakistani rulers to abandon the policy to appease New Delhi through exchange of cultural troupes and trade of onions and potatoes. He said that talks with India could never be successful. Sirajul Haq also cautioned Modi that if he attempted any adventure at the US bidding, he would have to face disastrous consequences.
Referring to the repeated incidents of blasphemy in the west, the JI chief said that some spokesmen for the west had started a practice to indulge in the blasphemy of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) but they could not escape the divine wrath. He however stressed upon the government to take the nation into confidence on this score.
