Lahore: Provincial Minister for Food and Chairman Cabinet Price Control Committee, Bilal Yasin has said that trader’s community will have to play an active role in the wake of reduction in the prices of petroleum products for provision of edible items to the people at reduced rates.
He said this while presiding over a meeting at Commissioner Office, today. Secretaries of Agriculture and Livestock departments, Commissioner Lahore Division, DCO Lahore, office-bearers of poultry, flour mills and ghee mills associations attended the meeting.
The Minister while addressing the office-bearers of the associations said that they should play their active role for supplementing the government efforts for providing maximum relief to the people and added that the prices of edible items should also be reduced for the benefit of the common man. He said that with the cooperation of trader’s community, government can provide maximum relief to the masses.
Bilal Yasin said that PML-N government considers reduction in prices of petroleum products as the right of the people and is utilizing all resources for transferring it to them. He said that no administrative negligence would be tolerated for transferring the benefit of reduction in prices of petroleum products to the people. He asked office-bearers of associations to play their role in reducing prices of daily use items on the pattern of public transporters. He said that according to the vision of Punjab Chief Minister, provision of relief to poor people is a national obligation and traders should support government by reducing the prices of commodities so that common man should directly benefit from reduction in prices of petroleum products.
