Lahore: Provincial Minister for Women Development Hameeda Waheed-ud-Din has said that deep brotherly relations exist between Pakistan and Japan which are further strengthening with the passage of time.
She said this while inaugurating the exhibition of Japanese calendars held under the aegis of Japanese Embassy, Pak Japan Cultural Association and Lahore Arts Council at Alhamra Art Gallery, here today.
The Provincial Minister said that cultural relations in the promotion of relations between Pakistan and Japan are of great importance. She said that exhibition of Japanese calendars reflects the present era and cultural attitudes of traditional Japan. Sports, natural scenes, architectural art, Japanese art of arranging flowers and other topics have been included in these calendars. She said that all these calendars not only reflect the skills of Japanese artists but also presenting the tale of economic, cultural and social development of Japan.
Hameeda Waheed-ud-Din said that three years ago, earthquake and tsunami have caused heavy destruction in Japan. She said it is a matter of pleasure that Japan is progressing after coping with natural calamities. She said that Japan has an important place in technology in the world and its old relations with Pakistan are strengthening day by day.
Addressing the function, Consular of Japanese Embassy in his speech in Urdu said that it is an honor for him to be in the centuries old city Lahore which is playing an important role in the promotion of Japanese cultural activities.
Honorary Consul of Japan in Pakistan Amir Sherazi, president Pakistan Japan Cultural Anjuman Dr. Ghazala Irfan, Chief Executive Lahore Arts Council Capt. (R) Atta Muhammad Khan and others were present on the occasion.
Earlier, the Provincial Minister inaugurated the exhibition of Japanese calendars. She saw each calendar in Art Gallery and appreciated. The exhibition will continue till February 10 from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.
