Lahore: Member Provincial Assembly and Chairman Steering Committee on Land Record Management Information System, Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that Punjab government has accepted all genuine demands of patwaries.
He expressed these views during meeting with office-bearers of Anjuman-e-Patwarian at Board of Revenue Office today. Senior Member Board of Revenue Nadeem Ashraf, Secretary Board of Revenue Ahmed Malik, Director Land Record Maqbool Ahmed Dhawala, Director Operation Project Management Unit Saleh Saeed, Provincial President Anjuman-e-Patwarian Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, Provincial General Secretary Malik Zahid Afzal, Members Supreme Council Tariq Javed, Faqeer Hussain, district presidents and general secretaries of the Anjuman were present on the occasion.
Rana Sanaullah said that due to land record computerization, acquiring Fard will become easy and people will be rid of obsolete patwar culture. He said that fruits of land record management, computerization and online system will be provided at grass root level. He said that due to this system, not only rights of common man regarding land will be safeguarded but timely and transparent services of land record will also be available to the people.
He said that present revenue staff will be imparted training in IT skills and modern technical expertise on the pattern of Health, Finance and P&D. He said that after capacity building of Revenue staff, the post of patwari will be upgraded to Revenue Field Assistant and of Qanoongo to Field Supervisor. He said that due to this step, government will have to bear an additional financial burden of more than Rs. 11 million. He said that revenue record rooms will be constructed at a cost of one billion rupees. He said that government has also decided to give monthly travelling allowance to Tehsildar, Naib Tehsildar, Qanoongo and Patwaries.
Rana Sanaullah said that land record management information system is a public welfare project and people will directly benefit from it. He said that this project will be completed in May, this year. Earlier, Senior Member Board of Revenue highlighted the importance of land record management information system and apprised the participants of government measures in this regard. General Secretary Anjuman-e-Patwarian assured full cooperation for the success of land record management information system.
