Next elections would be a day of reckoning for the political pundits:Sirajul Haq

Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan Sirajul Haq stressed that all political parties should sink their differences and join hands on a one point agenda of the solution of the problems facing the country and the nation. He said that people were committing suicides due to poverty but the ruling elite that controlled the vast resources of the country, would not take pity on them at all.pic jip

However, he was sure that the next elections would be a day of reckoning for the political pundits who had been in charge of the national resources so far because there was an urge among the masses to rise for a decisive struggle.

Addressing a news conference at Mansoora on Tuesday, Sirajul Haq,a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan was the need of the masses. He said it was the government’s responsibility to normalize the political situation in the country prior to the Senate elections. He said that the setting up of a Judicial Commission was not an issue relating only to the government and the PTI, this was the demand of all the parties and the general public.pic amir jip 27 jan

Ameer Jamaat strongly criticized the Pakistani rulers’ silence over US President Obama’s support for India as permanent UN Security Council member and US-India nuclear deal was not understandable. he said that India was an aggressor and had been holding the Kashmiris as slaves on gun point for six decades and had also thrust three wars on Pakistan in the past. With this background of India, even the US proposal for making India permanent member of the UN Security Council was a great injustice.“ We don’t want a war with the US, but the rulers’ behaviour as US slaves is not acceptable to the nation”, he added.

Stating that peace in the region was not possible without the solution of the Kashmir issue, Sirajul Haq said the JI would hold countrywide rallies, Kashmir seminars and processions on the 5th of February to express the nation’s solidarity with the Kashmiris struggling for liberation.

The JI chief termed the country’s foreign policy a bundle of failures. The rulers in Islamabad were serving the US interests instead of the interest of their own country, yet the US today was standing by India and “our rulers are watching in silence”.He said the US-India collusion was a threat to the regional peace. The US had entered into nuclear and trade agreements with India while with Pakistan, it was trading on dead-bodies.

Sirajul Haq said that Obama, on assumption of power, had given an assurance to the world for the solution of major issues including that of Kashmir. However, today, he was building India as regional policeman and also supporting New Delhi designs to destabilize this country through Afghanistan.
