JI Lahore holds Shan e Mustafa Million march in the city

Lahore: Leaders of different parties including from the minorities addressing the Shan e Mustafa Million march in the city on Sunday called upon the Muslim rulers to converge in the Holy Kaaba or the Masjid e Nabvi to decide a line of action to check the incidents of the blasphemy of the Holy Prophet and the desecration of the Holy Quran and Islamic symbols, and also move for a UN legislation guaranteeing the protection of the dignity of all the Holy Prophets and all revealed books.

“The dignity of the Noble Prophet (SAW) is a matter of faith for the Muslims and they cant tolerate disgrace of the Prophet.  If the leaders from forty non Muslim countries could unite for the defense of the blasphemers, why the rulers of 57 Muslim states can’t make a common cause for safeguarding the dignity of the Holy Prophet (SAW), they asked.JI lhr pic

The leaders said that the foremost responsibility in this direction lay with Saudi Arabia that housed the Holy Ka’ba and the Masjid e Nabvi, and was the spiritual leader of the Muslim Ummah, while Pakistan as the only nuclear power of the Muslim world, had the next responsibility on this score because the Muslims all over the world looked towards her for taking the lead.

Those addressing the rally that marched from Nasir Bagh to the Faisal Chowk, included JI Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch, Maulana Abdul Ma’lik, Maulana Amir Hamza, Hafiz Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer, Javed Kasuri, Pervez Malik, Mustafa Rashid, Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar, Dr Fareed Paracha, besides Hindu leader Dr Manohar Chand and Christian leader Father  Dr Philip John.

Hundreds of women and children also joined the Million March. They were led by the widow of the Late Qazi Hussain Ahmad, Dr Humaira Tariq, Zubaida Jabeen and others.

In his address, Liaqat Baloch said that the people of Lahore had shown remarkable unity by joining the Million March protesting the blasphemy of the Noble Prophet (SAW), rising above party politics and sect considerations. He said that French and European journals were persistently indulging in blasphemy but the biased international bodies were indifferent. However, he said that the attitude and the Muslim rulers was all the more shameful. He said it would be in the interest of the Muslim rulers to give up their indifference and take up the issue of blasphemy with the western leaders with full courage.

The JI leader further said that any conspiracy to alter the Islamic provisions on the constitution would not be tolerated by the nation. Islam, he said, is he religion of peace and love and the Muslims had no plans to thrust their ideology on others by force. However, he said, the western civilization had its day and was on the verge of collapse whereas the golden teachings of Islam were spreading all around.
