Punjab government decides to double the quota of distribution of free laptops

Rana Mashud Ahmad KhanLahore: Provincial Minister for Education, Rana Mashud Ahmad Khan has said that Punjab government has decided to gradually double the quota of distribution of free laptops among talented boy and girl students carrying-out research work in various Islamic subjects in religious seminaries of the province. He disclosed this while presiding over a meeting here today.

The meeting decided that as per agreed formula, one thousand more laptops than previous year will be given to male and female students of religious seminaries working under five Wifaq ul Madaaris this year and this number will be doubled during next three years.

Research Scholars of Shhadat ul Aalmia, Islamic Sharia, Fiqah, Daura-e-Hadith and other degrees declared equal to postgraduate education will be eligible for getting laptops in religious seminaries. The Education Minister told that one lakh laptops will be provided free of cost to the male and female students of govt. and private colleges obtaining more than 60 percent marks in intermediate and above classes whereas, Federal government will distribute one lakh more laptops among university students throughout the country, out of which, 60 thousand laptops will separately be distributed among the students of universities of the province.
