Health department requests medical experts of Army to prepare artificial limbs for Tabasum Shahzad

Shahbaz Sharif inquires after Tabbasam ShahzadLahore: Director General Health Punjab Dr. Zahid Pervaiz has said that  a 9-years old child Tabasum Shahzad of Gujrat, who was deprived of his both arms, was treated for more than three months in Jinnah Hospital. He said that a special medical board comprising Prof. Mehmood Shaukat, Plastic Surgeon Prof. Mozam Tariq and Orthopedic Surgeon of Mayo Hospital Prof. Syed Muhammad Awais was constituted for the treatment of Tabasum Shahzad. He said that wounds of child have cured and plastic surgery of his both arms has been carried out. Regarding media reports, Dr. Zahid Pervaiz said that Tabasum Shahzad is a child and his body is growing therefore, according to experts, electric arms cannot be attached to his body. He said that Dr. Khalid Jameel of Mayo Hospital examined the child three weeks ago and contacted Pak-Army Institute Rawalpindi for preparation of artificial limbs for him.

Dr. Zahid Pervaiz further said that steps have been taken for the treatment of the child and grafting of his artificial limbs only on the orders of Punjab Chief Minister. When the growth of Tabasum Shahzad will complete, electric arms will be attached to his body on government expenses. He made it clear that complete treatment has been provided to Tabasum Shahzad on government expenses and there is no question of neglecting him.
