Lahore: The renovation work at National Hockey Stadium has been completed and now it is ready to host top level national and international hockey events, this was stated by Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar in a media talk here on Thursday.
DG SBP said that the renovation work of the stadium, which is largest hockey stadium of the country, was completed with an eye on the important future events.
He said the stadium was decorated with a new blue turf last year. “As many as 6,400 new chairs have been placed in President, Media, Ladies and VIP enclosures. New water pipes have also been laid around the ground to provide sufficient water to astro turf,” he said while giving the detail of renovation work.
“The mosque and hostel have also been whitewashed and refurbished properly. Now the stadium has new and modern lighting system,” he added.
DG SBP said that SBP has always focused on better sports facilities and infrastructure in the province. “We are providing top class sports facilities to our youth so that we can prepare our youngsters for the next mega events,” he added.
