Govt has made life miserable by closure of electricity gas :Ch Pervaiz Elahi

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-Q senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has said with closure of electricity and gas the govt has made the life of the people miserable, stoves not burning and employment has ended, people want electricity and gas not MOUs, not a single megawatt of electricity has been added to the national grid despite all the tall claims.

In a statement issued here today, he expressed deep concern over present situation of energy supply and complete solidarity with the poor and common man and said that the life has been made miserable for them, every where even domestic women were also protesting on the roads who were facing lot of difficulties and problems in cooking food due to non-availability of gas. He said besides continuous closure of gas, announced and unannounced load shedding of electricity for hours together was also badly effecting employment of the people and the working class was facing the maximum difficulties in this regard, unemployment was touching the heights due to closure of factories and business.

Ch Parvez Elahi said further that the nation was given good tiding every day that agreements have been signed for addition of thousands of megawatts of power in electricity generation and MOUs have also been signed in this regard but no result has come to the fore so far and the people were yearning for electricity. He said that instead of reduction in load shedding, electricity and gas crisis was being intensified with every passing day and nobody seemed to be concerned about the masses at large.
