Islamabad: Business leaders on Wednesday condemned brutal attack on defenceless children in Peshawar terming it worst form of terrorism in history of Pakistan saying that eradication of terror must become a top priority of the Government.
Vice President Saarc Chamber Iftikhar Ali Malik, TDAP Chief SM Muneer, United Business Group nominee for FPCCI presidency Mian Muhammad Idrees, Senator Ilyas Ahmed Bilour and others they expressed solidarity with the children and all others affected in the attack in a mourning meeting.
Extending their deepest sympathies and condolences to the bereaved families, they announced cancellation of various functions for three days organised by different chambers of commerce and associations in their honour.
“We strongly condemns senseless and inhumane attacks on innocent students and educators, and stands in solidarity with the Army and all who fight the menace of terrorism,” Iftikhar Ali Malik said in the meeting.
This act of cruelty and brutality warrants a massive action against terrorists by security forces that have full support of the business community of Pakistan, he added.
Time has come that the Army which guardian of our ideological and geographical frontiers which must act swiftly to safeguard the live and property of common people, the business leaders demanded.
The whole nation is with Pakistan’s armed forces, we all support our brave soldiers who saved many children from being killed putting their lives in danger,” the meeting observed.
They also lauded the resolve of the government and all those including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who rushed to Peshawar as soon as the news of attack broke out. PM’s announcement to continue operation is heartening, they observed.
Others present on the occasion included business leaders Munawar Mughal, Ehsan Naseer, Riazuddin Sheikh, Mian Zahid Hussain, Abdul Raoof, Sheikh Naseem, Sheikh Tanveer, Amir Atta Bajwa, Samina Fazil, Dr. Shela Jaweed Akram, and Chairman Media Malik Sohail.
Rejecting the justification of attack by terrorists, the business leaders said that the inhuman attack on school should be a wakeup call for those who continue to support the terrorists considering them good Muslims which is incorrect.
Civilised world should not remain confined to statements, they should step forward to help Pakistan eradicate terror and US should not abandon Pakistan which is paying price for the war Washington started.
