Kenya and Pakistan A teams observe one-minute silence to mourn the massive killings in a Peshawar School

Lahore: The visit of Kenyan cricket team to Pakistan is definitely a major step towards the revival of international cricket in the country; this was stated by Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar while talking to the media here on Tuesday.

Usman Anwar also distributed prizes after the 3rd one-day match between Pakistan ‘A’ and Kenya at the Gaddafi Stadium. DG SBP, who was the chief guest of the 3rdone-dayer between Pakistan ‘A’ and Kenya, also watched the match for some time. Before the prize distribution ceremony, Kenyan cricket team was introduced with the DG SBP. PCB Chairman Shaharyar M Khan and Kenyan High Commissioner were also present on this occasion.

During the innings break, both the teams observed one-minute silence to mourn the massive killings in a Peshawar School.

DG SBP said that after the Kenya visit, more international teams will tour Pakistan in 2015 and that time is not far when major cricketing nations will feel no hesitation in playing cricket in Pakistan grounds. “Sports Board Punjab has provided high-profile security to Kenyan cricket team and now the prospects are quite bright for Pakistan to host more top level cricketing nations in near future,” he expressed his hope.
