A delegation of Pakistan Air Force visits CM Punjab office

Minister Interior Col( R) Shuja KhanzadaLahore: Provincial Minister for Home Col.(R) Shuja Khanzada has said that protection of life and property and security issues being faced by the province is being helped through Information Technology under which more crime areas and roads will be covered by installing eight thousand cameras.

He was talking to a 46-member delegation headed by Abdul Jabbar Khan Air Commodore Air War College Karachi of Pakistan Air Force at 90-Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam, here today in which officers of Pakistan Army as well as Iran, Jordan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Turkey and China participating in the course were present on the occasion.

Chief Secretary Punjab Naveed Akram Cheema, Senior Member Board of Revenue Nadeem Ashraf, Inspector General of Police Mushtaq Sukhera, Additional Chief Secretary and other secretaries concerned were also present.

Col.(R) Shuja Khanzada said that crime control center has been established in Lahore on the pattern of Istanbul and London to control street crime and improve law and order situation of the province whereas 19 divisions of the province will be linked with this center through satellite under a phased programme. He said that thana culture is being changed for improving policing system in Punjab and Turkish government is fully assisting in this regard. The Minister said that the whole police system will be changed within a year and all police vehicles and motorcycles would be possible to track from control room through tracker system which will help in providing assistance at crime scene.

Col.(R) Shuja Khanzada said that China is making investment in Pakistan which will bring revolutionary changes in the economy of the country and other sectors. He informed the participants of the course about rescue and relief operation during recent flood that Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif himself visited remote flood affected areas without any protocol and personally monitored all steps taken for flood hit people. The Minister said that Punjab government has given relief package of Rs.16 billion to flood affectees. He appreciated the role of Pak Army for maintaining peace and eliminating terrorists during war against terrorism in the country. He said that Pak Army is defender of the country.

Earlier, Senior Member Board of Revenue and Secretary Planning & Development briefed the participants about the steps taken for the flood affectees and flood-hit areas, development projects and steps taken for the welfare of the people. Later, Air Commodore Abdul Jabbar Khan and Col.(R) Shuja Khanzada exchanged shields.
