Lahore: Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute and LGH Prof. Anjum Habib Vohra has said that PGMI has excelled both in academia and professionalism in the country as well as all over the world and Ameer ud Din Medical College, associated with PGMI, has followed the same footsteps by producing best results in the whole province in its opening session of MBBS First Professional.
He expressed these views while addressing the ceremony held in honor of position holders of MBBS first professional here today at Ameer ud Din Medical College. The students Ayesha Waheed, Ayesha Riaz and Noor ul ain Shahid secured first, second and third positions in the college respectively and were given cash prizes by the Principal in the ceremony. The function was attended by the faculty members, Dr. Tanveer Anwar President PMA Lahore, Dr. Sikandar Hayat Gondal General Secretary Medical Teachers Association, Dr. Bushra Suhail Additional Dean, students and their parents.
Addressing to the participants, the Principal said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced to establish Ameer ud Din Medical College two years ago and it was meant for those brilliant students who could not get admission in some medical college nor were they able to go abroad due to financial constraints. Hence this college has also contributed to a great extent for stopping brain drain, he added. He stressed upon the students to carry on their studies with dedication and commitment so as to excel in their field fulfilling the expectations of their parents and country fellows. He said that if our students are provided with educational institutes having international standard, they can prove their metal in every walk of life. He expressed the hope that Ameer ud Din Medical College would produce even better results in future due to its hardworking and experienced faculty and proper lab facilities for research.
