Lahore: Patron-in-chief of Pakistan Hindu Council and Member National Assembly Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani has said that the extremist ideologies not only made the society hostage, but Pakistan’s national flag was also being interpreted according to wills of extremist elements with a purpose to separate the patriot minorities from the mainstream. He was addressing to a seminar, organized by the Peace & Development Foundation, here in Islamabad.
“Green color, in fact, represents all Pakistani people, including minorities while White color is to ensure peace, security and safety for all.” He said while denouncing the widely-used concept regarding the attribution of green color in National Flag for Muslims and white color for Minorities. He further said that respect to other religions was mandatory in the teachings of all religions. He demanded that Government must take concrete steps for the protection of Minorities as per the June 19 Supreme Court Orders, adding that next hearing in the Supreme Court regarding this issue will be on December 16.
Dr. Ramesh regretted that despite patriotism and sacrifice for motherland, the unfavorable situation in Pakistan was making life of harmless minority community miserable and forcing them to migrate. He urged the Islamic scholars to play their due role for the formation of a peaceful and tolerant society.
