Begum Zakia Shahnawaz inaugurates Caravan Training of Trainers

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Population Welfare Begum Zakia Shahnawaz has said that including youth in legislation is top priority of Punjab government. She said this while inaugurating Caravan Training of Trainers.

Begum Zakia Shahnawaz said that youth are precious asset and bright future of the country, therefore, they should come forward and play their positive role in national development. She said that we all are first Pakistani and one nation, therefore, we should rise above cast, creed, religion and racial prejudices and work jointly for the development of the country.

The Provincial Minister paid tributes to Youth Advocacy Network (Pakistan) for its services and holding various activities including capacity-building of youth and making their approach positive. Thirty five male and female youth from 5 districts of the country including Multan, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Quetta and Lahore are taking part in a 5-day training of trainers. President Youth Advocacy Network (Pakistan) Fasahat ul Hassan talking to media told that Youth Advocacy Network (Pakistan) is continuing various training activities for character building of youth. He told that caravan training of trainers is aimed at to create awareness among the youth about human rights so that they could play their positive role for the progress of the society and development of the country.

Various sessions were held during the first day of 5-day training of trainers for creating awareness among the youth about AIDS in connection with World AIDS Day and getting rid of this menace. Special sessions will also be held for creating awareness about the violence against women. Advocates for Youth (USA) Aruj Irshad, Imran Khan Kakar, Executive Director Qaiser Ranjha, Programme Coordinator Advocacy Network (Pakistan) Hafiz Faisal Khalid and Media Coordinator Muhammad Asif Nadeem also addressed the function.
