Zulfiqar Cheema launches “Do Tok Baten”

Lahore: The launching ceremony of the book “Do Tok Baten” written by famous and eminent police officer Inspector General Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema held under administration of Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra). A large number of men and women belonging to different segments of society attended the event. The ceremony was presided over by former president Muhammad Rafiq Tarar. The ceremony were attended by Former Federal Minister of Law S.M Zafar, VC GCU Dr. Khaliq ur Rehman,, VC Lahore College University Bushra Mateen, renowned columnists Atta ul Haq Qasmi, Former Chairman Cricket Board Khalid Mehmood, former IG Punjab Shaukat Javeid, Senior Columnist Ajmal Niazi, Brig ( r ) Muhammed Akram,  Senior Journalist Suhail Wariach,  members of Civil Society and other respectable. The ceremony was conducted by poetess Sofia Biadar and book was published by Khalid Sharif, MD Mavra Publishers.

While addressing the launching ceremony of the book, Former President Muhammad Rafiq Tarar said that Zulfiqar Cheema is man of high character which is result of his upbringing by his parents in the right direction. Wherever IG Zulfiar had been posted, the local people are witness of his success. His family background is known for his love for humanity and all the family is symbol of honesty and integrity. He further said that every Pakistani who loves his country should read this book because the writer has brought forward brighter aspects of Pakistan and given hope and courage to the youth. May Allah Almighty bestow us brave, courageous and honest police officers like Zulfiqar.

Former federal minister law S.M Zarfar said that the prominent thing about Zulfiqar Cheema is his neat and clean personality. Cheema has always played his role in ascertaining rule of law and justice, he further said. He prayed that our country may have more officers like Cheema. In every word of the book we see a glimpse of patriotism and his writings should be included in the syllabus of Civil Service. The importance of rule of law has been effectively demonstrated in the book.

Former VC and Principal, Punjab University Law College Prof. Dr. Sheikh Imtiaz Ali said that Zulfiqar Cheema never compromised on rule of law and he was not appointed as IG Punjab or Sindh only because he is an honest and upright person. He further said that Cheema has made a place in the heart of the people which is big thing. The Storms only uproot big trees not small grass which dances on its directions. He further said that “DO Tok Baten” has great attraction about itself and he has read the book twice. The book should be read by every student and teacher and learn a lesson from it, he further said.

Dr. Dr. Khaliq ur Rehman V.C Govt. College University said that a person and police officer like Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema is a priceless gift of God. We don’t read their writings but they force us to read them because of their attraction. Every teacher and student of the country should read this book, he further said.

VC Lahore University Buhsra Mateen said that the writings of Zulfiqar Cheema are that of a man with aching heart and sensitive feelings.

Former President Pakistan Cricket Board Khalid Mehmood said that Zulfiqar Cheema is example of good name and he has not brought any blot to his name throughout his life. Cheema has special affiliation with Pakistan and founder of Pakistan which is found at many places in his writings.

Renowned Columnist Atta ul Haq Qasmi said that wherever IG Zulfiqar Cheema went, he brought change with him and reformed those institutions. He is practical example of honesty and has full command over writing a high quality humour. He suggested that Cheema may be appointed as Chief Election Commissioner by reforms in the constitutions. He further said that because of his wit and humour, the writings of Cheema are read by readers of all ages.

Senior Journalist Suhail Wariach paid tribute to the Zulfiqar Cheema by saying his writings leave deep impression upon the minds of the reader and are a ray of hope with lot of freshness and sophistication.  

Famous Journalist Dilwer Ch said that IG Zulfiqar Cheema is a police officer of high character and he is the only police officer whose office always remained opened for general public.

Former IG Shaukat Javeid said that the writings of Zulfiqar Cheema have to quality to attract its readers and establishment of Mediation Committees in Punjab was his great achievement.

Dr. Ajmal Niazi Senior Columnist said that Zulfiqar Cheema always saved the cruel from his cruelty and he is minaret of light.

Famous TV Host Junaid Saleem said that his only introduction with IG Zulfiqar Cheema was his honesty and the only word he heard from others about Cheema was sheer honesty of character. He further said that he had never read a column like “Maa” and the wit found in Cheema sb columns is rarely found. 

Famous Comedian Suhail Ahmad said that Zulfiqar Cheema is the only police officer after his father who has inspired him throughout his life. He is the best example of bravery.

Famous poet Khalid Sharif said the writings of the author drive the reader in the state of delight as well as sorrow. It also infuses hope and encourage in the readers. Every School teacher and govt official should read this book as source of inspiration and guidance.

At the end of the ceremony IG Zulfiqar Cheema thanked chief guest and the participant of the event
