Lahore: Director General Sports Board Punjab Usman Anwar has asked Pakistan’s male and female Kabaddi teams to prepare themselves properly for the upcoming Kabaddi World Cup being held in India next month. He expressed these views in a meeting with Lahore Lion Kabaddi team which returned from India after participating in World Kabaddi League Tournament.
DG SBP said that Pakistan Kabaddi teams offered reasonable performances in the previous Kabaddi World Cup but now our target should be winning the title. “SBP has provided best possible training facilities to both the teams at training camp and now it’s their turn to live up to the expectations of the nation in the upcoming grand event,” he urged.
He asked the team management to formulate separate game plan for every team as their strong and weak points. “Our team management should also prepare sufficient back up players so that an injury to any player could not affect the team performance in the mega event,” he added.
Meanwhile, the three-day trials for the short-listing of kabaddi players have been started at Punjab Stadium. These trials will be held on daily basis from 5.00pm to 8.00pm. The performance and fitness of every player will be judged in the trials and then the final team will be announced.
