Financial assistance would be distributed on Saturday,Sunday too:Col. Retd. Shuja Khanzada

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Home and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Flood Affectees Col. Retd. Shuja Khanzada has said that the process of distribution of pay orders of financial assistance to the flood affected people will continue on weekly holidays of Saturday and Sunday and the banks in the affected districts will remain open on Saturday as well.

He was presiding over a meeting regarding relief activities for flood affectees at Civil Secretariat, today. Senior Member Board of Revenue Nadeem Ashraf, Chairman Planning & Development Irfan Elahi, Director General PDMA and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.

The Minister said that flood affectees are being provided financial assistance on priority basis and instructions have been issued to all banks of affected districts to keep more cash than usual so that flood-hit people should not face any difficulty.

Shuja Khanzada further said that commissioners and DCOs of the flood affected districts have been directed to submit reports regarding flood losses as early as possible. He said that the process of distribution of 25 thousands quilts and blankets among flood affectees is being started from November 25. He said that after the completion of the process of rehabilitation of the flood affectees, construction of schools, hospitals and roads of the affected districts will be started in third phase.
