Motorway Police will be made best police force of the world: IG Zulfiqar Cheema

Lahore : Inspector General National Highways & Motorway Police Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema said that Motorway Police is considered role model institution of Pakistan and now we will make it best highways police in the world.

IG said that Honesty and Courtesy of the officers are basic traits of this department due to which this department has become symbol of pride for the country. The good name of the department is matter of pride and distinction for whole nation and we will further polish and strengthen these traits of the department and will not let it slip from its current status IG further said. We will not let this pride and distinction be lost said Inspector General NH&MP Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema while addressing passing out parade in Training College Sheikhupura.

 Inspector General Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema said that Motorway Police has ensured rule of law in accordance to the vision of Quide-e-Azam. Law should be equally enforced and there should be no concession or exception for the influential persons. Other departments should also adopt this standard of rule of law. He further said that we will never let writ of law to be weaken in our area of jurisdiction because it is equal to weakness of the writ of the state. IG also presented congratulation to the passed out trainees and expressed his expectation that when these quality trained officers will work in practical field, the standard of traffic discipline will improve and highways will be safer.

Earlier, during his welcome address Commandant Training College DIG Ahsan Sadiq said that modern methods have been adopted in training and its standard has been raised. He further said that all out efforts have been to inculcate honesty, courtesy and help of the road users in the minds of trainees during the training.

IG along with other officers place wreath of flowers on the monument of ‘Shuhdas’ and also prayed for them.
