Cabinet Committee on Muharram-ul-Haram visits Dera Ghazi Khan

Malik Pervaiz MNA,DCO Lahore Captain UsmanLahore: Cabinet Committee on Muharram-ul-Haram has started its visits from Dera Ghazi Khan Division for ensuring peace during Ashura-e-Muharram.

Minister for Home Col. (R) Shuja Khanzada led the cabinet committee while other members included Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Sardar Ali Sher Gorchani, Provincial Food Minister Bilal Yasin, former Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, Secretary Home Azam Sultan and Inspector General Police Mushtaq Sukhaira.

Addressing the meetings of Ulema in Circuit House and divisional administration in Commissioner Office, members of the cabinet committee said that maintenance of peace in the province particularly during Ashura-e-Muharram is top priority of Punjab government and no negligence of the administration will be tolerated.

There will be ban on display of arms and strict action will be taken on the recovery of illegal and prohibited weapons. Elimination of weapon culture is priority of Punjab government. Committee members said that purchase and sale of properties to foreigners is a sensitive matter in DG Khan, therefore, a survey and an investigation should be carried out in this regard and report be submitted. A vigilant eye should be kept on the activities of banned organizations and the persons included in fourth schedule. Timings of Majalis and processions and routes should be fully observed.

Video recording of programmes and security arrangements with CCTV cameras and other modern equipments should be ensured. Checking of hotels, inns and rented houses be carried out on daily basis and owners should be directed to provide details of passengers and tenants to the administration. Necessary training of volunteers should be arranged. Committee members said that DG Khan Division having link with Balochistan, KPK and Sindh provinces is a very sensitive place, therefore, search of vehicles and passengers should be ensured. They said that necessary training of tribal force, BMP and police of DG Khan and Rajanpur districts will be arranged in Multan for their capacity building. A coordinated strategy is being given final shape against criminal persons.

Data of gypsies be collected and the process of recruitment has been started for enhancing the number of Punjab police. Members of the committee said that Chief Minister Punjab has posted competent officers in DG Khan Division. Ulema assured the cabinet committee members of their full cooperation with the administration for maintaining peace.
