DGPR is a bridge between masses and the government: Global Strategies

Lahore: The importance of social media cannot be denied in the present age and the command over social media is necessary for effective communication. Director General Public Relations Punjab is playing the role of a bridge between masses and the government.

These views were expressed by experts of renowned media consultancy firm “Global Strategies (Pvt) Ltd. during one-day training session of officers of Directorate General Public Relations. Manager Operations (GSI) Mahnaz Sarwar apprised the participants about objectives of the training titled, “Media Relations and Effective Strategic Communication for Punjab Government”.

Sarah Khan informed the participants about objectives, methods and needs of strategic communication. She emphasized upon officers of DGPR to update their skills to plug the communication gap between public and the government. Trainer Maryam Riaz presented case study and analysis on media handling. Director News Rai Nazar Hayat and Director Lahore Division Arif Chaudhry extended gratitude to GSI experts for training of officers. Deputy Directors, Information Officers and Public Relations Officers participated in the training.

Meanwhile, the delegation of GSI also met Director General Public Relations Ather Ali Khan and the latter briefed the experts about the performance of the department. DGPR expressed the hope that training sessions for officers with the cooperation of GSI will be conducted in future as well.
