The JI chief said that scores of people had been martyred and hundreds others had been injured due to Indian shelling that had been continuing for the last two months. Crops over vast areas had been destroyed and hundreds of cattle head had been killed in shelling.  He deplored that the concerned authorities had not bothered to contact the affected people.

He urged the government to immediately announce a relief package for the families affected by Indian shelling and also plan measures for the security of the life and property of the people on permanent basis.  He visited the houses of the people martyred and injured in Indian shelling and prayed for the martyred and expressed his condolences with the bereaved families.

He was accompanied by the JI chief of the Sialkot district, Sheikh Attiqur Rahman, and others.

Later, while addressing a workers convention at Sargodha, Sirajul Haq said that Inshallah ( God willing) the next government would be of the Jamaat e Islami. He further said that we don’t want a new Pakistan, instead we have to build an Islamic Pakistan.

He said that the country was facing political instability and an uncertain situation. Within two years of the general elections, the country had fallen into  chaos and disruption as every body was confined to his ego while the country was burning in the fire of interests.

The JI chief noted that the nations who won freedom after Pakistan came into being had gone much ahead on the road to development whereas this country was lagging far behind.

Sirajul Haq reiterated that Pakistan had not been created for political Pundits and Brahmans who had been running the country for the last 67 years. He said the solution to our all problems lay in reverting to the ideology upon which this country came into being. He said that the Quaid e Azam had stated on many occasions that the Holy Quran and the Sunnah were the constitution for Pakistan.

He said the present state of affairs had compelled him to start the Pakistan Movement afresh for the realization of the goal before the Founding fathers and he would revive the movement from the JI Ijtema at the Minar e Pakistan next month .
