High risk areas will be kept under strict surveillance to eradicate dengue: Kh Salman

Khawaja Salman RafiqueLahore: Under the directive of Chief Minister Punjab, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif , District Government Rawalpindi has chalked out “Micro Plan” to implement and monitor dengue control activities of all related government departments and organizations in Rawalpindi District. The responsibilities of concerned departments had been categorically defined in Micro Plan and performance of all concerns would be evaluated on daily basis to overcome this fatal disease with close coordination civic authorities.

This was revealed by the Advisor for Health to Chief Minister Punjab Khawaja Salman Rafique while presiding a meeting held at Commissioner, office, Rawalpindi on Friday. The Commissioner Rawalpindi Division  Zahid Saeed and DCO Sajid Zafar Daal also present on the occasion. The meeting was attended by the Senior Officers of Rawalpindi Division.

The details of Dengue Control Micro Plan were shared by the DCO, Rawalpindi  Sajid Zafar Daal and also briefed about the activities of government departments for eradication of larvae.

Khawaja Sulman Rafique underlined the core responsibility of every government department and said that government has given top priority to overcome dengue and keeping in view the prevalence of dengue in high risk areas special teams had been constituted to remain present in most effected Union Councils. He further informed that high risk areas had been kept under strict surveillance so that immediate remedial measures should be adapted to for elimination of larvae. It was further informed that carpet fogging also continued in effected localities of Gawalmandi, Dhoke Ratta. Javed Colony, Chamanzar Colony, Mohanpura, Arjunnazgar, Hazar Colony and adjoining areas.

The Health Advisor said that he will stationed in Rawalpindi to personally review anti-dengue measures and will inspect the hospitals and affected areas. He also ensured for provision of required funds for provision of medicines to dengue patients.

It was also informed that a control room has been set up in EDO Health office, in Khayaban e Sir Syed, Rawalpindi where health officials had been deputed and anyone can visit and contact at Telephone No 051-4931965 in case of any emergence or seeking information about dengue control activities.

Similarly, it was also elaborated in the meeting that separate dengue beds along with required medicines had been allocated in teaching hospitals of Rawalpindi including Holy Family, District Headquarter and Benzair Bhutto Hospitals.
