If the constitution is abrogated, it would be hard to keep the provinces together: Siraj ul Haq

Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, has said that if the 1973 constitution was abrogated, it would be hard to keep the provinces together.

Addressing public meetings at Nawabshah, Tando Allah Yar and Tando Adam Khan during his Sindh tour on Sunday, he said that the government would have to show more flexibility for resolving the political crisis in the country.

He said the political Jirga had given its suggestions to the both sides for a way out but neither side had given any response.  He said it was the responsibility of all political parties to protect the democratic system, and  all of them should avoid making fiery speeches.

The JI chief also called on the PPP leader Makhdoom Amin Faheem’s residence in Ha’la to offer his condolences over the demise of his brother.

Sirajul Haq reiterated that the JI would open the doors of the Presidency, Prime Minister’s House and the National and the provincial assemblies to the poor people. He said that the vaderas and feudal lords had not conquered any fortresses and their era was now over, as the masses could not remain the slaves of the vaderas.

The JI chief said that the people of Sindh had been voting for the PPP and the PML(N) but their lot had not been improved. He said that a change could come only with the enforcement the Islamic system based on justice and equality.

He also urged the people of Sindh to throng the JI Ijtemah at the Minar e Pakistan from November 21.
