Hans Raj Hans accepts SBP invitation to attend the opening ceremony of upcoming International Youth Festival

Lahore: Renowned Indian folk singer Hans Raj Hans has accepted an invitation from Sports Board Punjab (SBP) to attend the opening ceremony of upcoming International Youth Festival.

Accepting the PYF opening ceremony invitation, Hans Raj said: “It will be a great honour for him to become a part of world’s largest festival. I will also perform on the stage in the PYF opening ceremony”. “Both of my sons managed to pave their way forward through youth festival of Indian Punjab and he foresees the same fate for Pakistan youth who are taking part in Pakistan’s Punjab Youth Festival,” he added.

Abdul Rauf Roofi, the spokesman of SBP, also conveyed the singer the well wishes from Punjab Sports Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan and Director General SBP Usman Anwar. In response, Hans Raj thanked both the Pakistan dignitaries and prayed for their success in their plans for sports promotion.

He said that he can’t forget the special affection of Lahorites. “I have meticulous respect with the city of Lahore, also known as ‘Data ki Nagri’. I have also great love for Pakistani Punjab,” he admitted.

Hans Raj also praised DG SBP Usman Anwar for organizing youth festivals successfully and taking the Pakistan sports to new heights. In this regard he gave the example of great upsurge in Pakistan kabaddi during the last couple of years.

Earlier, Hans Raj hosted a lunch in honour of Abdul Rauf Roofi, Rana Nadeem Anjum, the manager of Lahore Lions kabaddi team and the members of Pakistan media team.
