Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of death of newborn babies in District Hospital Vehari due to non-availability of oxygen and sought a report from Secretary Health. He ordered an inquiry into the tragic incident and directed that the matter should be thoroughly investigated.
On the direction of Chief Minister a 4-member inquiry team has reached Vehari. Shahbaz Sharif also sympathized with the bereaved families over the death of the babies. The Chief Minister has constituted an inquiry committee headed by Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical College University Dr. Faisal Masood to look into the matter.
The other members of the committee will be Chairman Chief Minister’s Inspection Team, Dr. Nusrat Ullah Chaudhry and Tariq Yasin. The Chief Minister directed the inquiry team to reach Vehari today by aeroplane and submit its report by night. He also ordered arrest of the persons responsible for the incident within next few hours.
