Lahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, visited the flood affected areas of Lahore, Hafizabad and Jalalpur Jattan on Monday. He was accompanied by the volunteers of the JI and the Al Khidmat Foundation.
Talking to the media men during the visit, he said that the government planning to prevent floods had failed and the people were facing destruction due to the incompetence and corruption of the Irrigation and Flood Protection departments and other related authorities. He said there was complete lack of coordination among the government departments and huge funds allocated for different projects had been misappropriated.
The JI Secretary General said that the country was facing numerous crises as our deviation from the injunctions of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah was incurring divine wrath. He said that if Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif took a bold step by practically accepting the sovereignty of Allah Almighty and enforced the Shariah, the country and the nation would earn the divine blessings.
