Governor lauds Shahbaz Sharif for his restless efforts for the marooned people

Ch Muhammad SarwarLahore: A meeting was held between Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Governor Punjab Ch. Muhammad Sarwar here today. Matters regarding flood situation and relief activities were discussed in the meeting. The Chief Minister said that there will be no shortage of resources for rescue and relief activities and relief camps have been set up in the affected areas for providing help and assistance to the flood-hit people.

He said that he is personally monitoring relief activities for the calamity-stricken people. He said that Punjab government will not rest content till the rehabilitation of last affected person. Governor Ch. Muhammad Sarwar said that Shahbaz Sharif is working round the clock for the provision of relief to the affected people and has proved that he always stands with the distressed brethren and sisters in the time of need.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting which reviewed rescue and relief activities in the flood-hit areas. The Chief Minister directed concerned institutions to further accelerate relief and rescue operation. He said that helicopters and boats should be used for evacuating marooned people and assured that there will no shortage of food, drinking water and shelter for the calamity-hit people.

He said that fodder for the livestock of the flood affectees should also be arranged. Shahbaz Sharif said that help and assistance to the marooned people is a collective obligation and the concerned institutions should accelerate rescue and relief activities through mutual coordination. He said that no laxity or negligence will be tolerated in the provision of help and succor to the flood affectees.
