Over 18000 flood affected people rescued

Flood Rescue & Search Operation in Mandi Bahauddin Flood Rescue operation in SahiwalLahore:  Over 180, 00 flood affected people including women and children have been evacuated from flood inundated districts of Punjab and looking at the helplessness and entrapment of the persons, even Rescue 1122 had to conduct night operations in inundated districts.

The major flood search and rescue operations on Monday were conducted in Mandi Bahuddin; Hafizabad, Sargodha, Jhang, Chiniot and Khushab, where over 4500 rescuers of Water Rescue Teams conducted major rescue operations and evacuated over 100, 00 flood affected people on Monday. On directions of the Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif as a part of flood preparedness, Rescue 1122 boats already have been deployed in vulnerable districts particularly along with the Chenab River. Furthermore, the resources have been augmented especially in Multan; Muzaffargarh, Khanewal and Rahim Yar Khan.

DG Rescue Punjab Dr. Rizwan Naseer was informed by the Provincial Monitoring Cell of Rescue 1122 that Disaster Response Force and Water Rescue Teams have rescued over 180, 00 flood affected from vulnerable districts of Punjab since start of the flashfloods; including 5155 from Mandi Bahauddin; 4245 from Hafizabad, 1790 from Sialkot, 1481 from Sargodha, 1415 from Narowal, 842 from Khushab, 900 from Gujranwala, and 403 from Jehlum etc. Furthermore, the Disaster Response Force headed by Dr. Farhan Khalid and assisted by Mian Mohammad Ahsan has also been moved to Jhang to provide backup support to Emergency Services Jhang.
