Lahore: Former Law Minister Punjab, Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that emergent steps are being taken for the protection of life and property of flood and rain-affected people. He said that Provincial Ministers, Secretaries and all administrative machinery are working in the field whereas Chief Minister Punjab is also visiting flood hit areas to review relief activities.
He said this while addressing a briefing session held under the aegis of City District Government at Circuit House Faisalabad today. A briefing was given by District Administration, WASA, Waste Management Company, Irrigation Department and other departments to assembly members about flood relief measures.
He directed that rainwater should be drained out from low lying areas at the earliest. Assembly members stressed that no negligence should be shown in regular cleanliness of rainy nullahs. They said that a survey of buildings of dilapidated condition should be carried out and notices should be served to the owners of these buildings. The DCO Shafiullah Khan told the meeting that financial assistance of Rs.16 lakh each have been provided to the heirs of the deceased.
