Lahore: A huge quantity of fake pesticides has been recovered by Agriculture Department Punjab. According to details on some information a raid was carried out in a portion of a leather factory near QIla Sattar Shah Sheikhupura by a team of Agriculture Department where some unscrupulous persons were doing business of fake pesticides.
The team of Agriculture Department recovered fake pesticide about 25 thousand kilogram worth 30 lac rupees from the spot. Two accused persons Muhammad Idrees and Irfan Ali were apprehended from the spot. The four accused persons Taimoor Ali, Iftikhar, Muhammad Idrees and Irfan Ali have been nominated in the FIR.
It is worth mentioning that on the instructions of Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Chief Minister Punjab , Dr. Farrukh Javed Minister for Agriculture is launching special campaign against the fake pesticides in Punjab province. According to the spokesman of Agriculture Department fake pesticides fail to control insects and diseases of crops causing reduction in crop yields and huge losses to the farmers,consequently adversely affecting the economy.
A spokesman of Agriculture Department has told that cooperation between Agriculture Department and farmers is imperative to control fake pesticides. The spokesman has suggested the farmers to inform about the persons doing the business of fake pesticides on helpline numbers 0800-15000 and 0800-29000 of Agriculture Department so that severe action should be taken against the accused persons in accordance with law.
