PAT,PTI workers captured PTV building

Lahore: On Monday morning protest spread in the federal capital as the violent protesters attacked at newly appointed SSP Islamabad Asmatullah Junejo and entered into the state run TV station “PTV” and shuts the PTV world and PTV news” broadcasting.

Protesters of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek stormed the Pakistan Television headquarters in Islamabad on Monday morning. Protesters occupied PTV World at 11:14 am, while broadcasts of PTV News blacked out at 11:25 a.m. when Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif was on-air.

Later army reached at the spot and managed to evacuate the building by making announcements on mega phone.

Meantime,Allama Dr Tahir ul Qadri asked his followers and PAT workers that they should not clash with the army.

PTI chief said that no PTI worker was involved in state building attack. He also strongly condemned the occupation of State Broadcasting Institution.

SSP Asmatullah is being treated in local Hospital where as Army contingent evacuate the PTV building.

PTV MD Abdul Maalick has said that protesters damaged instruments,broken cameras and other machineries.A woman anchor was allegedly manhandled by the protesters.
